carpieta

carpieta
(probably from Spanish carpeta < French carpette < English carpet)
Glossed by Blevins as "a Mexican saddle blanket." Spanish sources do not reference this term. In General Spanish carpeta refers to a table cover. The Royal Academy also notes that it can refer to a blanket, curtain, or piece of cloth hung on a tavern door.
